About Turrón de Guadalajara

Turrón de Guadalajara, popularly known as turrón rosa, is an iconic street confection native to Jalisco's capital. While sharing a name with Spanish nougat, the exact historical origin of Guadalajara's pink version remains undocumented.

Artisan candy makers, known as turroneros, boil water, sugar, and lime juice before adding vanilla and vivid pink coloring. After resting, the confection is hung and pulled. Slices are dressed with tart lime juice.
